COMPLAINT

Mr Kerr complained about an article headlined “How far-right propaganda in Ireland ‘weaponises legitimate social issues’”, which he said breached

Principle 1 (Truth and Accuracy) and Principle 2 (Distinguishing Fact and Comment of the Code of Practice.

PRESS OMBUDSMAN’S DECISION

The Press Ombudsman decided not to uphold the complaint.

APPEAL TO THE PRESS COUNCIL OF IRELAND

Mr Kerr appealed the Press Ombudsman’s decision to the Press Council of Ireland.

The Press Council considered the appeal at its meeting on Wednesday, 12 July 2023.

Mr Kerr’s appeal did not cite or make explicit reference to either of the two grounds on which an appeal must be based. For this reason, the appeal was deemed inadmissible.
